Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James used a highly anticipated Tuesday announcement to introduce a signature bottle of Hennessy cognac, quashing online speculation that he might discuss the end of his playing career.
The special release, branded “The Second Decision,” borrows its name from James’s televised 2010 choice to leave Cleveland for Miami. The limited-edition cognac features the 40-year-old’s trademark “crowning” celebration on the label and continues a partnership with Hennessy that began in 2024.
“It’s an honor to continue this partnership with Hennessy,” James said in a statement. “The design features my crowning gesture, which stands for celebration and connection. That’s what this bottle is made for.”
James enters an NBA-record 23rd season after averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds across 70 games last year. He reiterated that he remains “super-invested” in the upcoming season, adding, “I don’t know when the end is. I know it’s a lot sooner than later.”
