LeBron James’ NBA plans past this season remain unclear

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, who will turn 41 in December, has not committed to playing beyond the 2024-25 campaign, according to reporting from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
During an appearance on ESPN, Windhorst said conversations with people close to the four-time champion indicate that no definitive decision has been made. “He’s essentially taking it year by year,” Windhorst noted. “Could this be his final season? Yes. Will it be? No one, including LeBron, seems to know yet.”
James is about to start his 23rd NBA season. Retirement is one option, but remaining on the court after next spring also appears to be in play, leaving the Lakers and the rest of the league waiting for clarity.
