LOS ANGELES — LeBron James says his recent remarks about NBA travel were never meant as an attack on the people of Memphis, Milwaukee or Cleveland, but he reiterated Saturday that those cities top his list of least-favorite road stops.

Speaking with reporters after practice, the 41-year-old Lakers star explained that long trips feel tougher late in his career and joked that the hotel situation in Memphis, specifically the Hyatt Centric, plays a role.

“Milwaukee was, too. Did they miss that one, too? They didn’t see that?” James said when asked to clarify comments made earlier this week on a YouTube show. “Forty-one years old, it’s two cities I do not like playing in right now. That’s Milwaukee, and that’s Memphis.”

James, an Akron native, added that even visiting nearby Cleveland is no longer appealing. “I don’t like going home either — and I’m from there,” he said, noting that some Cavaliers fans remain upset his son Bronny plays for the Lakers.

Warriors Expect Curry Back on Sunday

The Golden State Warriors, currently locked into 10th place in the Western Conference, anticipate a major boost when Stephen Curry returns Sunday after missing more than two months with a knee injury suffered January 30, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“Now, Superman’s back, so we’ll figure it out with that,” guard Gary Payton II said. Curry is eager to share the floor with deadline-addition Kristaps Porzingis. “I was telling him, I don’t know how people are going to guard our pick-and-roll,” Curry said.

Injury Updates: Post and Horford

Golden State announced that rookie center Quinten Post, sidelined by soreness in his right foot, is progressing and will be re-evaluated next week, reports Marc J. Spears of Andscape. Forward Al Horford is on a similar timeline and could return before the regular season concludes, adds Nick Friedell of The Athletic.

Suns Coach Jordan Ott Picks Up First Technical

Phoenix interim head coach Jordan Ott received his first technical foul of the season during Thursday’s loss in Charlotte. “I’ve been waiting all season for him to get one,” forward Royce O’Neale said, adding that the moment provided the Suns with an energy boost.

The Suns are 47-33 with two games remaining on Ott’s 82-game audition.
