The Los Angeles Lakers continue to hunt for a dependable two-way wing, yet league conversations suggest that viable options are limited, according to reporter Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Inside front-office discussions, New Orleans Pelicans forwards Herbert Jones and Trey Murphy III are viewed as ideal acquisitions for Los Angeles, Stein noted. However, multiple executives believe the Pelicans have little interest in moving either player before the upcoming trade deadline.
Even if one of those wings became available, the Lakers are not expected to pursue a deal that would jeopardize their long-term salary flexibility unless the move clearly upgrades the roster. With versatile wings among the NBA’s most coveted assets, Los Angeles is opting to monitor the market rather than make a premature offer.
For now, the Lakers’ search remains active but uncompromised, leaving the club in a holding pattern until circumstances change.
