The Los Angeles Lakers have opened a two-way roster slot for forward Drew Timme, releasing third-year center Christian Koloko, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The move confirms an earlier report from Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

Timme, 24, went undrafted out of Gonzaga in 2023 and has spent most of the past two seasons in the NBA G League. The Brooklyn Nets signed him to a two-year deal late last season and exercised a team option in June, but the non-guaranteed contract led to his release during the preseason.

The 6-foot-10 big man opened the 2025-26 campaign with the South Bay Lakers and impressed during the NBAGL Tip-Off Tournament, averaging 28.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 48.1 percent from the field.

Koloko, 23, appeared only in brief garbage-time minutes this season after posting 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for Los Angeles a year ago.

Undrafted Vanderbilt wing Chris Manon and guard Nick Smith Jr. remain in the Lakers’ other two-way slots as the organization continues to reshape its frontcourt depth.
