The Los Angeles Lakers have reached a two-way agreement with guard Nick Smith Jr., league sources told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
The deal was struck just four days after the Charlotte Hornets waived the 21-year-old as part of their roster trim. Under the terms of the two-way pact, Smith will split time between the Lakers’ standard roster and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
Selected 27th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-5 Arkansas product averaged 9.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists last season while starting 27 games for Charlotte. He has converted 36.9% of his three-point attempts across his first two NBA campaigns and is regarded as a versatile scorer with extended range.
