The Los Angeles Lakers have secured a new contract extension with head coach J.J. Redick, president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka announced on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Pelinka revealed the agreement in a post on X (formerly Twitter) relayed by The Athletic’s Dan Woike. He later told reporters that the deal reflects the organization’s “confidence and belief” in Redick, according to Khobi Price of the Southern California News Group.
Terms and length of the extension were not disclosed. Redick, hired in 2024, guided Los Angeles through his first NBA season on the sidelines after a 15-year playing career and subsequent media work.
