The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to examine guard Quentin Grimes as a possible addition when the NBA offseason begins, according to a report highlighted by Lake Show Life’s Svyatoslav Rovenchuk and relayed by Hoops Wire.
Rovenchuk noted that Grimes spent a short stint with Luka Doncic in Dallas before the Mavericks shipped him to the Philadelphia 76ers. Injuries in Philadelphia later expanded Grimes’s role, giving him a chance to showcase his scoring and floor-spacing abilities.
The 24-year-old combo guard is averaging 12.7 points while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from three-point range this season. His skill set—scoring without monopolizing the ball—has been identified as a logical fit next to Doncic, whom the Lakers are determined to maximize during the superstar’s prime.
While Los Angeles is expected to survey multiple options this summer, Grimes is viewed as a complementary piece who could strengthen the backcourt rotation if a deal can be reached.
