The Los Angeles Lakers intend to sign free-agent big man Drew Timme to a two-way contract, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. The move would require the club to waive either Christian Koloko or Chris Manon, as fellow two-way player Nick Smith Jr. is reportedly safe.

Timme, 25, went undrafted out of Gonzaga in 2023 and spent most of his first two professional seasons in the G League. He earned a two-year standard deal with Brooklyn last March after a strong campaign for the Long Island Nets. The Nets exercised their $1,955,377 team option in late June, but the salary was non-guaranteed, and Timme was waived during the preseason.

The 6-foot-10 forward/center logged nine games with Brooklyn to close the 2024/25 season, averaging 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 28.2 minutes while shooting 44.1% from the field and 25.7% from three-point range. He followed that stint by posting 25.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists across three Summer League contests.

Timme opened the 2025/26 campaign with the South Bay Lakers. Through four Tip-Off Tournament games, he is putting up 28.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.1 minutes, shooting 48.1% overall and 24.0% from deep.

If Los Angeles proceeds with the signing, the team must decide between releasing Koloko or Manon. Manon, an undrafted rookie from Vanderbilt, has appeared twice in NBA garbage time but is averaging 18.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists for South Bay while leading the G League with 3.5 steals per game. Koloko, a third-year center, has also played two brief NBA stints this season and is averaging 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in two G League outings.

No official roster move has been announced.
