The Los Angeles Lakers intend to sign free-agent center Drew Timme to a two-way contract, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reported.

Los Angeles already holds three two-way slots, currently occupied by Nick Smith Jr., Christian Koloko and Chris Manon. According to the report, Smith’s position is secure, leaving either Koloko or Manon to be waived to accommodate Timme.

Timme, 25, went undrafted out of Gonzaga in 2023 and has spent most of his professional career in the NBA G League. The Brooklyn Nets signed him late last season after an impressive stretch with their Long Island affiliate. Brooklyn exercised his $1.9 million option in June, but the non-guaranteed contract led to his release during the preseason.

In nine appearances for the Nets last season, the 6-foot-10 big man averaged 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He followed that with a productive Summer League showing, putting up 25.3 points and 8.0 rebounds across three games.

To begin this season, Timme has been playing for the South Bay Lakers, averaging 28.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists through four NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament contests.

Both Manon and Koloko have seen limited minutes with the Lakers but have delivered strong G League numbers. Manon leads the league with 3.5 steals per game, while Koloko has recorded four blocks per contest in two outings.
