Chicago has begun compiling a list of potential general manager hires after dismissing Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley, and several high-profile names are in the mix, league sources told NBC Sports.
In addition to current Timberwolves GM Matt Lloyd, the Bulls have shown interest in:
- Kyle Korver – Atlanta Hawks assistant general manager
- Mike Dunleavy Jr. – Golden State Warriors general manager
- Landry Fields – former Hawks general manager, now president of league operations for Overtime Elite
- Austin Brown – co-head of CAA’s basketball division
Dunleavy, 45, is considered unlikely to leave Golden State, according to the report. The former forward spent three seasons with the Bulls during his 15-year playing career (2002-17).
Korver, whose 17-year NBA run ended in 2020, joined Atlanta’s front office in 2022 as director of player affairs and development before being promoted to assistant GM in January 2023. He played two seasons in Chicago earlier in his career.
Fields, 37, served as Hawks GM for three seasons, posting records of 41-41, 36-46 and 40-42 with one first-round playoff exit. He was relieved of his duties last April and moved to Overtime Elite in January as the developmental league transitions into a national prep competition.
Brown represents a wide range of star clients—including Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, Jaren Jackson Jr., OG Anunoby and top prospect Cooper Flagg—and was previously linked to Atlanta’s executive search last spring.
No timeline has been set for Chicago’s hiring process.
