Knueppel, Harper Capture February Rookie of the Month Honors

The NBA on Monday named Charlotte Hornets wing Kon Knueppel the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month and San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
Knueppel, 19, secured the award for the fourth consecutive month, sweeping every Eastern Conference honor this season. In 11 February games, the No. 5 overall pick averaged 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists across 31.5 minutes, shooting 50.3 percent from the field. He hit 49 of 101 attempts from beyond the arc, converting 4.5 threes per game at a 48.5 percent clip while leading Charlotte to an 8-3 record.
Harper, selected second overall last June, claimed his first monthly award after the Spurs went 10-0 in games he played. The 6-4 guard produced 12.5 points, 4.9 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 25.1 minutes a night, connecting on 55.4 percent of his shots. San Antonio posted a +21.0 net rating during Harper’s 252 minutes on the floor.
Other Eastern Conference nominees were Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe, Washington Wizards forward Will Riley and Brooklyn Nets guard Nolan Traore. In the West, the NBA also considered Utah Jazz forward Ace Bailey, Memphis Grizzlies guard Javon Small, Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud and Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg.
