Knicks Evaluate Centers Alex Len and Trey Jemison in Free-Agent Workouts

The New York Knicks recently hosted free-agent big men Alex Len and Trey Jemison III for workouts as the franchise looks to shore up depth in the frontcourt, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported on September 15.

Len, an 11-year NBA veteran, and Jemison, who spent part of the 2024/25 season on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, are the latest players to audition for a roster spot in New York. Earlier this offseason, the club also brought in journeyman guard Dennis Smith Jr., who has been unsigned since leaving Real Madrid in February.

The Knicks currently have 12 players on standard contracts. Second-round pick Mohamed Diawara is expected to sign a standard deal, while Kevin McCullar Jr. has received a two-way qualifying offer.

Veteran guards Malcolm Brogdon, Landry Shamet and Garrison Mathews have agreed to non-guaranteed training-camp contracts. Because the team is hard-capped, only one of those three can stay on the regular-season roster unless salary is moved in a trade to create additional space.
