The New York Knicks would face long odds in any pursuit of Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo should the two-time MVP ask to be moved, the New York Post reported on Dec. 6. After sending five first-round picks to Brooklyn for Mikal Bridges before last season, New York no longer possesses the stockpile of selections rival bidders could offer. According to the report, the only realistic path to Madison Square Garden would be if Antetokounmpo specifically demanded a trade to the Knicks and indicated he would not re-sign with another team.

Anunoby Returns in Rout of Jazz

New York cruised past Utah by 34 points Friday as forward OG Anunoby played for the first time in nine games. Limited by a left hamstring strain, Anunoby logged 23 minutes and finished with 11 points. Head coach Mike Brown said the primary goal was to give the forward live action to rebuild conditioning and noted he looked sharp during the brief appearance.

Hart Rejoins Starting Five

Josh Hart opened Friday’s contest in the starting lineup for the seventh time this season. Brown said the switch came after his coaching staff presented a unified case for inserting the guard, adding that he deferred to their recommendation despite his initial reservations.

Kolek Battling for Minutes

Second-round pick Tyler Kolek, described by teammates as lighthearted off the court, is receiving steady floor time because of injuries elsewhere on the roster. The 2024 draftee has appeared in each of the past eight games and said he views every minute as a chance to earn trust from both Brown and his veteran teammates.
