The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to send guard Jose Alvarado to the New York Knicks, multiple outlets reported on February 5, 2026.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the fifth-year guard—who was born in New York—will join the Knicks in a deal that returns guard Dalen Terry, two future second-round draft picks, and cash considerations to New Orleans.

Ian Begley of SNY reported that New York is parting with second-round selections in 2026 and 2027. James L. Edwards III of The Athletic confirmed the exact years of those picks.

The trade positions Alvarado, known for his perimeter defense and energy off the bench, to play in his hometown for the first time in his NBA career. New Orleans adds depth with Terry while bolstering its draft capital.

No additional details were immediately available.
