Sacramento, CA — The Sacramento Kings have released shooting guard Dexter Dennis, the team announced on October 9.
The move comes 11 days after the 26-year-old inked a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal with Sacramento on September 28. Because the contract included the Exhibit 10 provision, Dennis remains eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he joins the organization’s G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, and stays there for at least 60 days.
Undrafted out of Texas A&M in 2023, Dennis has spent most of the past two seasons in the NBA G League. He logged a brief two-way stint with the Dallas Mavericks at the start of the 2023-24 campaign, appearing in four NBA games before returning to the G League, where he split time between the Texas Legends and the Cleveland Charge.
Last season, the 6-5 guard played 47 games for Stockton, averaging 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 31.1 minutes while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from three-point range and 78.0 percent at the foul line. He helped lead Stockton to the 2025 NBA G League championship in April.
With Dennis waived, Sacramento’s preseason roster remains at the maximum 21 players. Any additional camp signing—such as the expected deal with forward Daniel Batcho—will require another cut from the group of players currently on non-guaranteed contracts.
