The Sacramento Kings plan to promote Will Scott to head coach of their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Scott joined Sacramento’s organization in 2019 and most recently worked as an assistant coach with the NBA club. He served as Stockton’s associate head coach during the 2023-24 season.
The 35-year-old began his professional career in 2014 as video coordinator for the South Bay Lakers and rose to head video coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.
Stockton posted a 22-12 record last season and captured the franchise’s first NBA G League championship.
This will be Sacramento’s first full campaign under NBA head coach Doug Christie, who took over for Mike Brown midway through last season.
