Luke Kennard buried a contested three-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining, giving the Los Angeles Lakers a 105-104 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday and pushing their winning streak to nine games.
Lakers
Marcus Smart delivered the sideline inbounds pass that found Kennard on the right wing for the decisive shot. The play capped a night in which Los Angeles improved to 22-6 in games that reach clutch time.
LeBron James, appearing in his record-setting 1,612th regular-season game to move past Robert Parish, supplied several late defensive stops. Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 33 points, while Austin Reaves contributed 26.
Spurs
San Antonio never trailed in a 134-119 home win over the Indiana Pacers. Keldon Johnson and rookie guard Dylan Harper scored 24 points apiece, with Harper shooting 9-of-13 in his first NBA start.
Victor Wembanyama continued his all-around production, finishing with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five blocks. The Spurs have taken 21 of their past 23 contests and sit at 53-18, their best record through 71 games since 2017.
Thunder
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 40 points as Oklahoma City defeated the Washington Wizards 132-111 for its 11th straight win. The All-NBA guard has now recorded at least 20 points in 63 consecutive road outings.
The game turned chippy in the second quarter when a skirmish spilled into the stands, leading to the ejections of Thunder forward Jaylin Williams and Wizards wing Justin Champagnie, along with two others. Order restored, Oklahoma City pulled away and was never threatened again.
