Veteran forward Juan Toscano-Anderson has signed with Pallacanestro Trieste of Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A, the club announced on August 16. The press release indicates the 32-year-old agreed to a one-year contract.

“Bringing a player of the caliber of Juan Toscano-Anderson to Trieste is much more than a market operation; it is a milestone in the history of our club,” club president and owner Paul Matiasic said in the statement, lauding the forward’s resilience, work ethic, and championship experience.

Italian daily Il Piccolo first reported Trieste’s interest earlier this week. The team previously added former NBA guard Jahmi’us Ramsey and is coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which it finished 18-12 and entered the Serie A playoffs as the No. 6 seed before falling to No. 3 Brescia in the opening round.

NBA and G League résumé

Toscano-Anderson went undrafted out of Marquette in 2015 and spent several seasons in Mexico before landing a 2019 training-camp deal with the Golden State Warriors. The Oakland native remained with the Warriors for parts of three seasons and earned an NBA championship ring in 2022.

The 6’6” wing split the 2022-23 season between the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz and appeared briefly with the Sacramento Kings in 2023-24. Over five NBA seasons, he has played in 202 regular-season games, averaging 4.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 15.5 minutes while shooting 50.2% from the field, 32.9% from three and 64.6% at the foul line.

During the 2024-25 G League season, Toscano-Anderson suited up for the Mexico City Capitanes, compiling 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks across 42 games (34.8 minutes). He posted a shooting line of 42.2% from the floor, 31.6% from beyond the arc and 84.5% from the stripe.

The upcoming season will mark Toscano-Anderson’s first stint in Italy and his second experience playing professionally in Europe.
