Amazon Prime Video has added recently retired guard John Wall to its NBA studio show for the 2025-26 season, The Washington Post reported on Aug. 20.
Wall, who formally ended his playing career on Tuesday, said he is eager to remain connected to the league by offering analysis when Amazon begins its first year as an NBA rightsholder this fall.
“I still feel I have a lot left in my tank as a player, but I’m looking forward to sharing my insights with fans,” Wall told reporter Michael Lee.
Prime Video will carry games exclusively on Friday nights through December, then add Thursday and Saturday broadcasts later in the schedule. The service will also air December’s NBA Cup knockout round.
Wall joins a studio lineup that already includes former All-Stars Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowitzki. The show will be hosted by Taylor Rooks.
Amazon’s broader on-air roster features analysts Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash, Candace Parker, Stan Van Gundy, Dell Curry, Brent Barry, and Udonis Haslem; sideline reporters Cassidy Hubbarth, Allie Clifton, and Kristina Pink; and play-by-play voices Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, Michael Grady, and Eric Collins.
During his interview, Wall reiterated that he had hoped to spend his entire career with the Washington Wizards and expressed a desire to see his No. 2 jersey retired by the franchise. He also reflected on the injuries that curtailed his time on the court, saying, “I didn’t play the game of basketball for money. I played because I love it.”
