The Dallas Mavericks plan to add free agent wing John Poulakidas on a two-way deal, Jake Fischer of The Stein Line reported.

Poulakidas, 22, went undrafted in 2025 after four years at Yale. The 6’6” guard averaged 19.4 points and 3.3 rebounds over 27 games as a senior and connected on 40.2% of his three-point attempts during his college career.

He signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers last fall but was waived before the season and has spent 2025-26 with the G League’s San Diego Clippers. In 13 Tip-Off Tournament appearances, he posted 8.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 19.8 minutes while shooting 38.5% from deep.

Since the G League regular season began, Poulakidas has taken on a larger role. Across 27 games, he is averaging 14.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 30.9 minutes and hitting 47.3% of his three-point attempts on high volume.

Dallas will open a two-way slot once Ryan Nembhard’s contract is converted to a two-year standard deal. If that move is finalized within the next three days, Poulakidas will be eligible to suit up for as many as 12 regular-season games for the Mavericks.
