The Utah Jazz have finalized a two-way contract with guard John Tonje, according to the NBA’s official transactions log.

Tonje, 24, reached the league after a winding collegiate journey. The 6-foot-5 guard spent four seasons at Colorado State before transferring to Missouri in 2023, where a foot injury limited him to eight games. Granted a medical redshirt, he moved on to Wisconsin last season and averaged 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 46.5 percent from the field, nearly 39 percent from three and 91 percent at the free-throw line. His performance earned second-team All-America recognition and a spot on the All-Big Ten first team.

Utah selected Tonje with the No. 53 pick in June, using a choice previously acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers. He now joins Oscar Tshiebwe and Elijah Harkless as the Jazz’s three two-way players, filling the team’s last available two-way slot.

With Tonje under contract, Utah’s roster stands at 19 players, two shy of the offseason maximum.
