Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen completed only a light individual workout on Saturday and continues to experience soreness in his right knee, leaving his availability in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics.
According to Cleveland.com, Allen skipped team drills during practice after a knee-to-knee collision in Tuesday’s 113-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Head coach Kenny Atkinson previously described the incident as routine contact.
Allen exited that contest midway through the third quarter while contesting a rebound but told reporters afterward, “I’ll be all right.”
The 25-year-old has been on one of the most productive stretches of his career, averaging 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 72 percent from the field since Feb. 1.
Meanwhile, guards Donovan Mitchell (groin) and Max Strus (foot) along with forward Dean Wade (ankle) practiced this weekend as Cleveland’s injury report begins to thin.
The Cavaliers enter Sunday at 39-24, sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference and trailing Boston by three games for the No. 2 seed.
