The NBA on Monday named Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks the Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week for games played Dec. 16–22.

Jackson earned the distinction for the second time in his career. The fourth-year forward averaged 27.0 points on 55.6% shooting, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.7 blocks in 32.7 minutes, guiding Memphis to a 2-1 record. His week included a season-high 31 points and five blocks in a 121-103 road win over the Clippers on Monday, followed by 28 points, a season-best 12 rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday’s 116-110 victory at Minnesota.

Brunson posted 31.3 points, 8.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game as New York also went 2-1 in its first contests after winning the inaugural NBA Cup. The point guard’s week was highlighted by a 47-point outburst in Sunday’s 132-125 triumph over Miami. The award comes just days after Brunson was named the NBA Cup’s Most Valuable Player.
