Four former NBA players currently competing abroad are making decisions about their futures as the European and international seasons wind down.
Tomas Satoransky
Guard Tomas Satoransky said he has not received any word from FC Barcelona regarding a new contract and will evaluate other offers when he reaches free agency this summer, he told Catalunya Radio. The 32-year-old played six NBA seasons between 2016 and 2022 before returning to Barcelona, where he is completing his fourth straight year and sixth overall. The Czech veteran previously spent five seasons with Sevilla from 2009 to 2014.
Evan Fournier
Olympiacos wing Evan Fournier told INFOSPORT+ that he thought seriously about retiring after capturing a silver medal with France at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Coming off two difficult seasons with the New York Knicks, the 31-year-old said a trip to the mountains convinced him to keep playing. Fournier, now in his second season with Olympiacos, expects to end his career within the next two or three years.
Ish Wainright
Forward Ish Wainright is discussing a two-year extension with Hapoel Tel Aviv, according to Israeli outlet Sport5. Wainright, 29, spent parts of three NBA seasons with Phoenix and Portland from 2021 to 2024 and has played the past two campaigns in Tel Aviv.
Quinn Cook
Two-time NBA champion Quinn Cook said he withdrew from an agreement with an Iranian club in January and recently lost a spot in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) when the Rwandan team he joined opted out over a dispute with the United States. Cook, 31, played in China last season and remains open to signing with another BAL franchise. “I have never been to Africa,” he told ESPN’s Andscape, adding that he had planned to make the trip with his mother and sister.
