Los Angeles — Lakers head coach JJ Redick said Monday that guards Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves remain day-to-day after recent injuries.
Doncic, 26, did not play in the second half of Saturday’s loss to the Clippers because of a lower left-leg contusion. The All-NBA guard practiced Monday with tape on the injured area, according to reporters who observed the session.
Reaves, out the past three games with what the club labeled a mild left-calf strain, participated in portions of the same workout and is also considered day-to-day. Redick added that starting center Deandre Ayton, sidelined two contests by a sore left elbow, is expected to return Tuesday in Phoenix and will not appear on the injury report.
Knicks Rule Out Three for Tuesday
The New York Knicks will be without Eastern Conference Player of the Week Jalen Brunson (right ankle injury management), wing defender OG Anunoby (left ankle soreness) and reserve big man Guerschon Yabusele (illness) when they visit Minnesota on Tuesday. Brunson missed two games in mid-November after spraining the same ankle.
Hawks Lose Daniels; Gueye Questionable
Atlanta’s reigning Most Improved Player Dyson Daniels will sit out Tuesday’s rematch with Chicago because of inflammation in his right hip, marking his first absence of the 2025-26 season. Forward/center Mouhamed Gueye is listed as questionable with a right-shoulder sprain.
Nuggets’ Watson Experiences Minor Setback
Nuggets head coach David Adelman said forward Peyton Watson suffered a “minor setback” in the pain level of his right trunk contusion, which originated when he was kneed between the hip and rib areas last Monday. Watson has missed most of the past three games; Adelman estimated the former first-round pick had a 50-percent chance to play Saturday before ultimately being ruled out.
Pacers Sit McConnell
Indiana guard T.J. McConnell was held out of Monday’s matchup with Boston due to left-knee soreness. The veteran previously missed the first 10 games of the season with a hamstring strain but had appeared in the past 18 contests.
