The Los Angeles Lakers plan to have every player available when they face the Clippers on Friday, Benjamin Royer of the Southern California News Group reported. Luka Doncic is slated to return after a four-game absence caused by a hamstring strain, and Austin Reaves will no longer be limited by the minutes restriction that followed his early-February calf strain.
Friday will mark just the 11th game this season in which Doncic, Reaves and LeBron James suit up together. Los Angeles is 7-3 in the previous 10 contests with the trio healthy. “We were talking before the season about building continuity with those three guys, and we’ve had them available together for 10 games,” head coach JJ Redick said Thursday. “These last 28 games are going to be a sprint.”
Additional injury updates around the league
Devin Booker, Suns: The All-Star guard left Thursday’s matchup with San Antonio in the first half because of right hip soreness. Booker briefly re-entered late in the second quarter but was ruled out for the remainder of the game. He had already missed eight of the 10 contests leading into the All-Star break with a right ankle sprain.
Cooper Flagg, Mavericks: Rookie forward Cooper Flagg will sit out Friday due to a left mid-foot sprain. Head coach Jason Kidd said Flagg is out of a walking boot and has resumed light shooting, adding that the team will monitor him “day by day” during a three-game trip that ends Tuesday in Brooklyn.
Max Strus, Cavaliers: Cleveland has not issued a formal update since announcing a follow-up exam for Strus’s surgically repaired left foot six and a half weeks ago. Although no timetable has been released, head coach Kenny Atkinson confirmed Thursday that he still expects the veteran wing to play this season.
Nic Claxton, Nets: The center missed Thursday’s loss to Cleveland after spraining his right ankle in practice on Tuesday. DayRon Sharpe started in his place.
