Eubanks Cleared, Jokic’s Knee Looks Minor as NBA Injury Picture Evolves
The Sacramento Kings expect to have center Drew Eubanks back in uniform Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 27-year-old has missed the last seven games with a fractured right thumb but was formally listed as available, beating the three-week recovery window the club announced on Dec. 13.
Forward Keegan Murray, sidelined for the Kings’ previous two contests by a left calf strain, has been upgraded to questionable for the same game. Team officials originally planned to re-evaluate the second-year wing one week after last Friday’s diagnosis.
Elsewhere around the league, early word from Serbia indicates Nuggets star Nikola Jokic may have avoided significant damage after hyperextending his left knee. Meridian Sport reported optimism Monday, though the two-time MVP is undergoing additional tests to confirm the extent of the injury and establish a timetable.
In Houston, Rockets coach Ime Udoka downplayed concern over Alperen Sengun’s left soleus strain that kept the center out of the last two games. Udoka said the club is merely managing soreness that surfaced following the Dec. 25 matchup.
The Clippers will be without guard Bogdan Bogdanovic indefinitely because of a left hamstring issue. He was unavailable Sunday versus Detroit and has already been ruled out for Tuesday’s meeting with Sacramento.
Philadelphia received encouraging news on two injured forwards: Kelly Oubre Jr. (left knee sprain) and Trendon Watford (left adductor strain) have resumed team activities after more than a month on the sideline. Watford described himself as “day-to-day” when asked about the 76ers’ three-game road trip that starts Tuesday in Memphis.
