Philadelphia, PA — Paul George said Tuesday that the 25-game suspension that kept him out of the 76ers’ lineup served as an unexpected recovery window for lingering knee issues. “This 25 games is just what I needed… for my body to kind of heal and be in a better place,” the forward told reporters, according to PHLY Sports. Because he was allowed to practice during the ban, the 33-year-old will rejoin the rotation without a ramp-up period when Philadelphia hosts Chicago on Wednesday. “I’ve been feeling great, feeling explosive again,” he added.
Additional injury updates
Minnesota Timberwolves: Guard Anthony Edwards, sidelined since March 15 with right knee inflammation, participated in individual drills at Tuesday’s practice but has not been cleared for full activity, The Athletic reported. The club previously announced on March 17 that he would miss at least one to two weeks.
Orlando Magic: Guard Jalen Suggs will miss his second straight game Tuesday in Cleveland after an illness kept him out of Monday’s contest against Indiana, the Orlando Sentinel noted. It is the fourth multi-game absence of the season for the third-year guard. Veteran Jevon Carter started in his place Monday.
Denver Nuggets: Forward Peyton Watson, who returned Sunday after a six-week layoff with a right hamstring strain, said playing at Denver’s altitude in his first home game since Feb. 1 “kicked my butt,” but he otherwise “felt amazing,” according to the Denver Post. The Nuggets are limiting his workload; after logging 20 minutes Sunday, he has been ruled out of Tuesday’s road game in Phoenix for right hamstring injury management, The Denver Gazette reported.
