The Trail Blazers’ 122-115 victory over the short-handed Suns on Sunday in Phoenix lasted less than a minute for Deni Avdija. The All-Star forward left after 59 seconds with a lower-back tweak, the same issue that has plagued him since first flaring up on January 11.

Interim head coach Tiago Splitter said the club will “dive deep and see what’s really happening” with Avdija, who has missed 10 games in the past six weeks and played seven others at less than full strength. Portland owns the NBA’s easiest remaining schedule by opponent winning percentage and appears headed for the play-in tournament regardless of Avdija’s availability, making the 25-year-old’s health for the stretch run the team’s primary concern.

Additional injury notes around the league

Coby White, Hornets: Listed as probable for Tuesday’s game in Chicago against his former team, the impending free-agent guard has been out since February 3 with a left calf strain. Head coach Charles Lee said the 26-year-old has made “great strides” in his recovery.

Kristaps Porzingis, Warriors: The center, who awoke ill on Sunday and sat out a comeback win over Denver, did not travel on Golden State’s two-game trip. He has been ruled out for Tuesday at New Orleans and is not expected to play Wednesday in Memphis.

Jalen Suggs, Magic: The guard is questionable for Tuesday’s matchup with the Lakers because of a back strain. Suggs experienced back spasms in Thursday’s victory at Sacramento and missed both weekend road games.
