The Charlotte Hornets have reached an agreement to sign center PJ Hall to a two-way contract, agent Matt Bollero told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk on Dec. 24.
Hall, 23, was an All-ACC performer at Clemson before beginning his professional career on a two-way deal with the Denver Nuggets in 2024/25. He appeared in 19 games for Denver, logging 66 total minutes. The 6-foot-8 big man joined the Memphis Grizzlies on another two-way contract last summer, seeing action in seven contests (27 minutes) before being waived in November to clear space for Jahmai Mashack.
The South Carolina native has been productive in the G League this season. Splitting time between the Greensboro Swarm—Charlotte’s affiliate—and the Memphis Hustle, Hall has averaged 14.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 blocks across 14 games while playing 27.5 minutes per outing.
Charlotte head coach Charles Lee turns to Hall with the club’s frontcourt thinned by injuries. Centers Ryan Kalkbrenner (left elbow sprain) and Mason Plumlee (right groin strain) both missed Tuesday’s win over Washington. With only Moussa Diabate available, the Hornets were outscored by 21 points during Diabate’s 12 minutes on the bench despite his 12-point, 18-rebound performance in 36 minutes.
To create a two-way opening for Hall, the Hornets waived forward Drew Peterson.
