The Charlotte Hornets have acquired veteran point guard Tyus Jones from the Orlando Magic and have waived swingman Pat Connaughton, Hoops Wire reported.
Details of the trade, including any draft considerations or cash involved, were not disclosed. The move adds depth at point guard for Charlotte while clearing a roster spot by parting ways with Connaughton.
Jones, 28, has spent nine seasons in the NBA with the Timberwolves, Grizzlies and Wizards before a brief stint with Orlando. Connaughton, 31, joined the Hornets earlier in the offseason after spending the bulk of his career with Milwaukee.
Both transactions are pending league approval.
