Charlotte Hornets guard Josh Green appears set to make his season debut on Friday when the team hosts the Chicago Bulls. The fourth-year pro is not listed on Charlotte’s latest injury report, reporter Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer noted on social media.
Green, 24, underwent surgery on his left shoulder in June and missed training camp while rehabbing. The Hornets sent him to their G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, last week for additional practice time before clearing him for NBA action.
This is the second season of a three-year, $41 million contract for Green. He started 67 of his 68 appearances for Charlotte last season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.8 minutes per game.
His return provides depth to a backcourt currently hit by injuries. LaMelo Ball (left ankle bone bruise), Tre Mann (right knee bone bruise) and Collin Sexton (left quad strain) have all been ruled out for Friday’s contest.
