Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Brandon Miller is expected to be back in uniform Saturday when the team hosts the Los Angeles Clippers. The second‐year player was not listed on Friday’s injury report, signaling medical clearance after missing 13 full games — and most of a 14th — with a partially dislocated left shoulder.
Miller, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft, suffered a left shoulder subluxation during the second quarter of Charlotte’s second game of the season. The setback came one outing after he opened the year with 25 points and seven assists. According to The Charlotte Observer, the injury occurred when he slipped while fighting through a screen.
The 22-year-old resumed basketball activities Monday and practiced with the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets’ G League affiliate. Saturday’s matchup coincides with his 23rd birthday.
Miller appeared in 74 games as a rookie but was limited to 27 contests last season after undergoing surgery on his right wrist. Through 103 career NBA games, he is averaging 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three and 83.2 percent from the foul line.
Viewed as a key piece of Charlotte’s long-term core, Miller will become eligible for a rookie-scale extension in the 2026 offseason. The Hornets, who started the campaign 2-1, have dropped 10 of their last 12 and enter Saturday at 4-11, 12th in the Eastern Conference.
