MIAMI — Center Bam Adebayo acknowledged on Friday that he must raise his efficiency after a difficult start to the Miami Heat’s current three-game road swing. Through the first two contests, the All-Star is 10-for-23 (43.5%) on two-point attempts, 0-for-3 from beyond the arc and has had three shots blocked.

“I’ve got to figure it out,” Adebayo said. “I’m accepting accountability. I’ve got to be better. I’m letting my team down, and it’s going to shift. I’ve been through these times before. We’ll figure it out.”

Ware posts career night

While Adebayo struggled, rookie big man Kel’el Ware delivered a team-best 24 points and hit a career-high six three-pointers in Friday’s loss at Boston. “I’m just getting more comfortable out there, playing through the flow,” Ware said.

Jakucionis makes strong first start

With only 10 players available, first-year guard Kasparas Jakucionis was thrust into the starting lineup for the first time and impressed with 17 points, five offensive rebounds and a single turnover across 35 minutes. Head coach Erik Spoelstra credited the 19-year-old’s recent stint with the Sioux Falls Skyforce for his readiness. “He’s here for a reason right now and not in Sioux Falls,” Spoelstra said, noting that Jakucionis’ eight G League games boosted both conditioning and confidence.

Wiggins tunes out trade chatter

Forward Andrew Wiggins, whose name has circulated in recent trade rumors, said he is avoiding the speculation. “I try not to think about it,” Wiggins explained. “I don’t really go on social media and search my name, so I don’t really hear too much of anything unless someone tells me.”

The Heat conclude their road trip Sunday before returning to Miami.
