ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks announced Sunday that two-way forward Eli Ndiaye will undergo surgery in early January to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, ending his rookie season.
The injury occurred on December 9 during a G League contest with the College Park Skyhawks, the Hawks’ affiliate. Team officials confirmed the 21-year-old will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
Ndiaye joined Atlanta on a two-way contract in July after four seasons with Real Madrid. He entered the 2025 NBA Draft but went unselected.
Although he has yet to appear in an NBA game, Ndiaye played nine times for College Park, starting seven of those matchups. He averaged 8.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 26.2 minutes while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from beyond the arc.
With Ndiaye sidelined, Atlanta can add another player on a two-way deal. The Hawks already have one open two-way slot; forward Caleb Houstan holds the team’s only other two-way contract.
