ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks have made it clear that rookie forward Zaccharie Risacher is off-limits in trade conversations that would send Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Team officials have “pushed back hard” against the idea of attaching Risacher to a potential Davis package, per the report. Dallas is believed to be targeting young players and expiring contracts, but Atlanta remains committed to Risacher’s long-term development after his impressive second-half showing last season.
Trae Young Market Stalls
While Risacher is unavailable, the Hawks are said to be increasingly willing to listen on Trae Young. Even so, Amick notes that interest around the league has been lukewarm. One opposing scout told The Athletic that Young is “extremely difficult” to build a championship contender around, and several league sources expect Atlanta to revisit the situation this summer if no viable offer emerges.
The franchise has missed the conference finals in each of the past five or six seasons, leaving the front office under pressure to identify a clear direction before the offseason.
