The Atlanta Hawks intend to sign free-agent center Christian Koloko to a two-way contract, reporter Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said on social media.

Atlanta has one open two-way slot, so no corresponding roster move will be required.

Koloko, 25, began the 2025-26 season on a two-way agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers but was released in late November when the club created room for rookie forward Drew Timme. The 7-footer then spent roughly a week with the G League’s Austin Spurs before joining the Memphis Grizzlies on a hardship 10-day contract on Dec. 22. Memphis brought him back for a second 10-day deal but chose not to keep him after it expired earlier this month.

While he logged only six minutes over two games for the Lakers, Koloko became a regular part of the Grizzlies’ rotation. In 11 appearances with Memphis, he averaged 2.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks in 17.7 minutes.

The Cameroon native was selected No. 33 overall in the 2022 draft after three seasons at Arizona. He showed promise as a rookie with Toronto in 2022-23 but missed the entire 2023-24 campaign because of a blood-clot issue that has since been resolved. Over 108 career NBA games, Koloko owns averages of 2.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 12.5 minutes.
