Atlanta Hawks center Jock Landale has been diagnosed with a high sprain of his right ankle and will be reevaluated in roughly two weeks, the team said in a Thursday press release.
The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s decisive road win over the Orlando Magic. While elevating for a potential dunk or layup, Landale was pulled down by the shoulder by Magic big man Goga Bitadze, causing Landale to land awkwardly on his right foot. He immediately showed significant discomfort.
Officials initially assessed Bitadze with a common foul, but after review the call was upgraded to a flagrant foul 2, leading to his ejection.
Landale, 30, is in the midst of a career-best 2025-26 campaign. Across 68 games split between the Memphis Grizzlies and Hawks, he is averaging 10.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.1 minutes per contest while shooting 51.5% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.
The Hawks did not announce any additional roster moves while Landale recovers.
