The Atlanta Hawks have officially signed forward Caleb Houstan to a one-year contract, the team announced on August 19, more than a month after their agreement was first reported.

Houstan, 22, spent his first three NBA seasons with the Orlando Magic. The 6-foot-8 wing, selected early in the second round of the 2022 draft, appeared in 168 games for Orlando and made 23 starts.

Last season he saw action in 58 contests (six starts), averaging 4.1 points in 13.6 minutes while shooting 40 percent from three-point range.

The Canadian forward became a free agent when Orlando declined its $2.1 million option for the 2025-26 season. Financial terms of his deal with Atlanta were not disclosed, but the contract is expected to be for the minimum.

Houstan joins a crowded wing rotation that includes starter Jalen Johnson and recent additions Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard. He will also compete with Dyson Daniels and Vit Krejci, who shot 43.7 percent from beyond the arc last year, for minutes off the bench.
