Hall of Fame Weekend Spotlights Anthony and Howard; 2026 Mock Draft Released; Raveling and Armani Remembered

With the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony set for this weekend, forward Carmelo Anthony and center Dwight Howard headline the incoming class of inductees.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin recapped Anthony’s accomplishments at Syracuse, throughout his 19-year NBA career and with Team USA, calling the 10-time All-Star an obvious Hall of Fame selection. Fellow ESPN writer Zach Kram offered a similar assessment of Howard, noting that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year’s production in his prime makes him a clear first-ballot choice despite a later-career decline.

2026 NBA Mock Draft Updated

As the 2025-26 college basketball season approaches, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman published a full 60-pick mock draft for 2026. Kansas guard Darryn Peterson topped the projection at No. 1, while Connecticut big man Tarris Reed Jr. rounded out the list at No. 60.

Passing of George Raveling

Longtime college coach and former Nike sports marketing executive George Raveling died Monday at age 88. NBA commissioner Adam Silver released a statement praising Raveling’s impact on basketball at every level and extending condolences to his family and friends.

Fashion Icon Giorgio Armani Dies at 91

Giorgio Armani, owner of EuroLeague club Olimpia Milano since 2008, passed away Thursday at age 91. EuroLeague officials credited the Italian designer with guiding the team to six Italian League titles and its first EuroLeague Final Four appearances in nearly 30 years.
