Memphis guard Ty Jerome will remain sidelined for another six to nine weeks as he continues to recover from the high-grade right calf strain suffered during the preseason, the Grizzlies announced Saturday.
The projected timeline places Jerome’s earliest possible return around Jan. 3, with mid-February representing the late end of the window. The 26-year-old has yet to make his Memphis debut.
Jerome joined the Grizzlies on a three-year, $27.7 million contract after a standout 2023-24 campaign in Cleveland. With the Cavaliers, he finished as a Sixth Man of the Year finalist while averaging 12.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field, 43 percent from beyond the arc and 87 percent at the free-throw line.
His absence adds to a crowded Memphis injury report. Fellow guard Ja Morant is out with a right calf strain, and Scotty Pippen Jr. has not appeared this season following toe surgery in October.
