The Memphis Grizzlies announced that forward Santi Aldama will have an arthroscopic operation on his right knee, accompanied by an orthobiologic injection aimed at easing discomfort in the knee’s trochlear compartment.

Aldama, 24, has been sidelined since Feb. 4 with lingering knee pain. Prior to the setback, he was producing career-best numbers, averaging 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 27.9 minutes over 43 games while shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from three-point range.

The Spanish forward signed a three-year, $52.5 million deal with Memphis last summer as a restricted free agent. According to the team, he is expected to make a full recovery, and a more detailed timeline will be provided after the procedure.

Aldama joins a crowded Grizzlies injury report that already includes Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., Walter Clayton Jr., Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
