The Memphis Grizzlies have re-signed center Christian Koloko to a second 10-day contract after receiving another hardship exception from the NBA, the team announced on Friday.

The new agreement, made official at 12:20 p.m. CST, is effective through January 11 and will span the Grizzlies’ next six games. Koloko, 25, will earn $136,717 during the deal, while Memphis incurs a cap hit of $131,970.

The 7-foot big man first joined the roster on December 22 under a hardship exception. Over five appearances, including one start against Philadelphia on Tuesday, he averaged 18.6 minutes, collected 19 rebounds, and recorded six steals and six blocks. Memphis posted a +15.2 net rating during his 93 total minutes on the court, despite his limited scoring output of 10 points.

Hardship exceptions allow clubs to add an extra player beyond the standard 15-man roster when at least four players have missed three or more consecutive games and are expected to remain out for two additional weeks. Memphis is currently without Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr., Zach Edey, John Konchar, and Brandon Clarke, all of whom remain sidelined and await reevaluation later in January.

Because NBA rules limit a player to two 10-day contracts with the same team in a season, the Grizzlies must either sign Koloko for the remainder of the year or release him once this deal ends. He is the first Memphis player to receive a second 10-day agreement this season; previous hardship signees Charles Bassey and Kobe Bufkin each inked only one.
