The Memphis Grizzlies have signed free-agent forward Braxton Key, the club announced Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Memphis had one vacancy on its 21-man offseason roster, allowing the team to add the 6’8” wing without making a corresponding move.

Key, 28, spent most of the 2024/25 campaign in the G League, appearing in 49 games for the San Diego Clippers and Santa Cruz Warriors. He averaged 16.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.1 blocks across 31.7 minutes per contest.

His G League performance earned a late-season call-up to Golden State. The Warriors first signed him to a two-way deal in March, then converted it to a standard contract on the final day of the regular season. Key saw 11 total minutes in three appearances, all in garbage time.

The Grizzlies did not disclose contract terms, but the deal is expected to be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10. Such agreements can be converted to two-way contracts before opening night, or they can provide a bonus of up to $85,300 if the player is waived and spends at least 60 days with the team’s G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. The Hustle would first need to acquire Key’s returning rights from the Clippers’ affiliate for that incentive to apply.

If finalized as an Exhibit 10, Key would join Lawson Lovering and Tyler Burton as the Grizzlies’ trio of Exhibit 10 signees. Memphis is also carrying 15 players on guaranteed deals and three on two-way contracts.
