Greek club Olympiacos is evaluating free agent guard Dalano Banton as a potential addition, journalist Sotiris Vetakis reported on September 20.
The 25-year-old spent last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in 67 games and starting seven. He averaged 8.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists while logging 16.7 minutes per contest.
Banton entered the NBA as a second-round pick by the Toronto Raptors in 2021. He later saw time with both Toronto and the Boston Celtics before landing in Portland.
This offseason, the 6-foot-9 guard has struggled to secure an NBA contract. According to Marc Stein, multiple international clubs have explored signing him, but Banton has continued to pursue an NBA deal. He has worked out for the Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers without reaching an agreement.
Across 216 NBA games, Banton owns career averages of 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 14.5 minutes. His 30.4 percent three-point accuracy has been cited as a factor in the lukewarm interest from NBA teams.
No deal with Olympiacos has been finalized, and Banton remains an unrestricted free agent.
