Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Boston forward Jaylen Brown have been voted the NBA’s Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week for games played March 30 – April 5, the league announced.
Gilgeous-Alexander, last season’s Most Valuable Player, guided the Thunder to a 3-0 record while averaging 31.7 points, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds.
Brown earned the award for the third time this season and the seventh time in his career. He led all Eastern Conference scorers with 31.0 points per game and added 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals as the Celtics finished the week 3-1.
Other Western Conference nominees were Kevin Durant (Rockets), Cooper Flagg (Mavericks), Jrue Holiday (Trail Blazers), Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray (Nuggets), and Victor Wembanyama (Spurs).
Eastern Conference considerations included Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Hawks), OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks), LaMelo Ball (Hornets), Desmond Bane (Magic), Jalen Duren (Pistons), Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers) and Jayson Tatum (Celtics).
