The Milwaukee Bucks listed Giannis Antetokounmpo as questionable for Friday’s game in New York because of a strained left adductor, the team’s latest update showed on Thursday. Milwaukee has dropped all five of those games and carries a six-game losing streak into Madison Square Garden.
Antetokounmpo, who turns 31 on December 6, was also a late scratch for Wednesday’s matchup in Miami. Head coach Doc Rivers said there has been no setback, adding, “We’ve got to protect him sometimes.”
Mavericks Could Get Davis Back
The Dallas Mavericks likewise listed Anthony Davis as questionable for Friday’s road meeting with the Lakers. The All-Star big man has missed 14 straight games because of a left calf strain but returned to practice on Wednesday. Davis called former basketball operations chief Nico Harrison’s firing “surprising and definitely tough,” yet downplayed recent trade speculation, saying his focus remains on leading Dallas once he is cleared to play.
Bulls Dealing With Multiple Injuries
The Chicago Bulls released a lengthy report ahead of Friday’s contest in Charlotte. Kevin Huerter (left pelvic contusion), Dalen Terry (left calf strain), Nikola Vucevic (right patellofemoral syndrome), Coby White (right calf strain, injury management) and Patrick Williams (left wrist sprain) are all questionable. Embiid Remains Out; George Questionable for Sixers
The Philadelphia 76ers ruled out Joel Embiid for the ninth consecutive game Friday against Brooklyn as he continues right knee injury management. Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) and Trendon Watford (adductor) remain sidelined, while rookie guard VJ Edgecombe will miss a third straight game with left calf tightness. Forward Paul George is questionable after sitting Tuesday’s 41-point loss to Orlando with a right ankle sprain, though he returned to practice on Wednesday.
