Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is still weighing his long-term future with the franchise, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. In response to that uncertainty, Bleacher Report writer Zach Buckley drafted five hypothetical trades that would ship the two-time MVP to the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs or Miami Heat.
Proposed Trade Packages
Trade 1 – Knicks
New York would receive Antetokounmpo, while Milwaukee would add Karl-Anthony Towns, rookie Danny Wolf and three first-round pick swaps (2026, 2028 and 2030). The Brooklyn Nets would join as a third team, landing Josh Hart and two 2026 second-round selections.
Trade 2 – Nets
Brooklyn’s offer features Michael Porter Jr. plus five first-round picks: 2027 (top-1 protected), 2027 via New York, 2029 (top-1 protected), 2029 via Houston and 2031 (top-1 protected).
Trade 3 – Hawks
Atlanta would send Jalen Johnson, No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher, a 2026 first-round swap (most favorable of Milwaukee and New Orleans), a 2027 first (least favorable of Milwaukee and New Orleans) and a 2030 first-rounder.
Trade 4 – Spurs
San Antonio’s package includes Harrison Barnes, rookies Stephon Castle and Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, plus first-round picks in 2027 (via Atlanta), 2029 and 2031 (most favorable of Sacramento or San Antonio).
Trade 5 – Heat
Miami would part with Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, rookie Kelel Ware, two pick swaps (2027 and 2029) and three additional first-round assets in 2030, 2031 (swap) and 2032.

Contract and Accomplishments
Antetokounmpo, 30, is scheduled to earn $54.1 million in 2024-25 and is under a three-year, $175 million extension signed in October 2023. The deal does not contain a no-trade clause, but Milwaukee has maintained it will keep its franchise cornerstone unless he asks to be moved.
The nine-time All-Star owns career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks. His résumé includes two MVP awards, a 2021 Finals MVP, one Defensive Player of the Year trophy and the Bucks’ 2021 championship—Milwaukee’s lone title since 1971. Since defeating the Phoenix Suns in six games that season, the Bucks have won just one playoff series.
