Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo said during All-Star Weekend that he remains devoted to the franchise after months of trade rumors and a quiet deadline, emphasizing that he will “never” declare a desire to leave Milwaukee while he is on the roster.

“As of today, I’m committed to the Milwaukee Bucks,” the two-time MVP told ESPN’s Malika Andrews, echoing remarks he has repeated throughout the season. Shortly after the trade deadline passed without a move, Antetokounmpo posted an Instagram video captioned, “Legends don’t chase. They attract,” underscoring his stance.

Although reaffirming his loyalty, the 29-year-old acknowledged that he has occasionally imagined wearing another uniform. “Growing up, you dream, ‘What if I played for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden? What if I got drafted by the Lakers and played with Kobe Bryant? What if LeBron [James] passed me the ball in Cleveland?’” he said. Still, he stressed that competing for championships in Milwaukee remains his priority, comparing the pursuit to craving an unforgettable steak.

“This is my team, and I love it,” Antetokounmpo added, indicating he intends to finish the current campaign with the Bucks, who entered the All-Star break outside the playoff picture.

Chelsea Women Investment

Antetokounmpo also discussed his February 7 decision to join the ownership group of Chelsea FC Women alongside Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. In a social-media announcement that day, he wrote, “Chelsea’s history speaks for itself, and I’m excited to contribute to the future by supporting continued growth and impact in women’s sport.”

Speaking with The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, Antetokounmpo said Ohanian’s commitment to creating opportunities his daughters could remember inspired him to invest. “He was like, ‘I’m trying to keep on pushing forward and investing in women’s sports and just change the narrative around that.’ And I said, ‘Hey, let me know when and what I gotta do,’” Antetokounmpo recalled.

The exact size of the Greek forward’s stake in the club has not been disclosed. With the Bucks’ postseason hopes uncertain, he noted that this spring could offer a rare chance to visit London, meet players and staff, and learn more about his new venture. “This is probably the only offseason that I’m going to have that I’ll be able to go out there and be around the team,” he said.
